FOCUS ON THE PUBLIC
On the public days from Friday, 20 January to Sunday, 22 January 2017 the ‘Cooktainment’ event area treated visitors with a glamorous mix of TV chef cooking shows, celebrities, cooking events for kids, quizzes, and much more.

TV chef Nelson Müller led the cooking shows with his celebrity guests. Star chefs Johann Lafer and Stefan Marquard and Alexander Herrmann, as well as vegan chef Sophia Hoffmann and TV host Ruth Moschner who had their own cooking shows. Sophia Hoffmann in particular, a self-confessed kitchen nerd, thrilled her audience with her passionate vegan cooking.
With new partner Houzz, the leading international platform for interior design, architecture and home living, visitors on the public days had the opportunity, in the Houzz Lounge (designed by German Design Award 2017 winner Büro Philipp Möller), in the passage between Halls 4 and 5, stand number 17, to meet the celebrity TV chefs taking part in the Cooktainment events during the week.

Many of the exhibitors also focused on the public days, putting on special events and bringing in celebrities and stars. For example Nolte Küchen brand ambassador Eva Brenner, the German TV presenter, was in attendance on the Saturday. A particularly busy area for the public was Frame magazine’s KitchenLab area which showcased the innovative work of 14 Dutch designers. In addition, the smart kitchen area allowed visitors to see some of the most innovative kitchen products on the market. And also allowed some future gazing as companies showcased their thoughts on the future…
