A PERSONAL ASSISTANT FOR THE KITCHEN

‘My kitchen elf’ – Mykie for short – is a concept for a personal assistant that serves as a smart companion in the kitchen. A concept from Bosch, fi rst shown as CES in Las Vegas, it is operated via the user’s voice. Mykie listens, answers questions, and helps with everyday chores. For instance, ‘he’ knows exactly how long the cake still needs to bake in the oven, what’s in the refrigerator, or whether the sun will be shining in the afternoon. With the connected Mykie, users can control the entire range of Bosch Home Connect household appliances [see page 8].

CHINESE SHOW REBRANDS AS LIVINGKITCHEN CHINA China/CIKB

2017,

organised by Koelnmesse and China National Hardware Association (CNHA), will be taking place this year from October 22-24. Latest trends and innovations, especially for the Chinese market, are presented and over 30,000 visitors are expected to visit the show at the National Exhibition & Convention Center (Shanghai).

As a satellite event of LivingKitchen Cologne in China, CIKB has made remarkable progress in recent years since the involvement of Koelnmesse.

It has become the only specialised kitchen exhibition in China and was successfully built up as a platform to promote the concept of the modern kitchen nationwide. As part of a strategy of internationalisation, and to develop the event with top-level standards like the main event in Germany, the organisers decided to rebrand CIKB as LivingKitchen China/CIKB. This year,

Koelnmesse plans to

organise a German pavilion, supported by the Federal Government. Numerous exhibitors and also new German brands are expected to attend.

In September 2014, the company went one step further and launched its own range of built-in appliances under the Blaupunkt brand. Häcker Kitchens has now secured the sole rights to the world-famous, established brand in perpetuity, and was showing new products at LivingKitchen.

“Obtaining the rights to the

Blaupunkt trademark has turned out to be a fi rst successful milestone,” says Markus Sander, Häcker Kitchens sales and marketing manager. “Within the scope of all- in-one marketing, our customers expect a strong built-in appliance brand with an innovative product portfolio – that offers high quality, rather

than China cutting corners in

this respect in order to be able to keep pace with the fi ercely competitive prices online.”
