“The economics work to our customers’ benefit on many different levels with IRIS,” said Jeff Warner, director of sales and marketing for Outlerlink. “Communication infrastructure and maintenance costs are cut. The flight data recording can give them over 100 parameters to monitor and significantly reduces unscheduled maintenance expense with precise airframe and engine data.”

With high frequency 10-second position data, IRIS users can more accurately document billable mileage. “We have seen customers increase revenue by as much as 10 percent,” said Warner. “The IRIS solution not only promotes safer operations, but also delivers immediate cost savings, increased revenue, and reduced downtime.”

“The IRIS push-to-talk radio has been very reliable and exceptionally clear for our communications. We have, in fact, made the IRIS PTT the default method of communication with the currently equipped aircraft,” said Graham Hiremath, Survival Flight’s communications supervisor. “Not only has this opened up geographic restrictions on our communications, but we see Outerlink continuously making improvements and enhancements to the system.
