December 2016.


According to a press release, ‘Mushroom Cultivation Business and Marketing Secrecies’ is specially designed to provide a one stop resource for owners and managers of small, mid-scale or commer- cial gourmet / exotic / specialty / medicinal mushroom enterprises to access a wide variety of research based information to assist with business and marketing decisions and success. The e-Book with various illustrations, screenshots and tables will be offered in DRM-free PDF format only. The book focusses on the essential, often untold, information needed to be successful in this compe- titive industry.


As ‘leading mushroom training and awareness provider in the Sou- thern Hemisphere’, the South African Gourmet Mushroom Academy serves companies as well as individuals. According to the author, the Academy has educated thousands of students since 2005. Headquar- tered in Cape Town, the company supports social empowerment and environmental initiatives through education. Mycologist Adriaan Smit completed mushroom training courses in The Netherlands and in England. A successful 25 year scien- tific career preceded his current position as managing director of the Academy. He also grows mushrooms. Co-author Markus Peter-Erik Janssens is company director of a research business and shares his experience in the world of business planning, mar- keting and sales.
