CO Consult Foundation announced the fourth, updated edition of the book ‘Mushroom Cultivation – appropriate technology for mushroom growers’ by Peter Oei.
According to Oei, more than 10.000 copies of the previous editions were sold all over the world. The new hardcover edition is aimed at improving the profitability of mushroom growers, by providing detailed information on the most cultivated mushrooms: button mushroom, shiitake and oyster mushroom. All the equipment for modern cultivation of Agaricus is described. Furthermore, cultiva- tion practices for ten other mushrooms are explained, as well as mechanization, climate control, farm management and post harvest handling.
This new edition will be updated with: biological control of pests and diseases, liquid spawn applications, recycling casing oil for Agaricus, reusing spent substrate, combining greenhouses and mushrooms, and circular economy and mushroom cultivation.
