stand 38 As most readers probably already know, Geraedts, Thilot and Lemmen joined for- ces on 1 January 2013 under the name of “GTL Europe”. Together they are convin- ced they are in a better position to offer the customers a full range of products for the cultivation of mushrooms and com- posting, from machines, air-treatment and climate-control installations, to control systems and complete global turnkey projects. A new company of course needs a new logo and a new house style, which was therefore introduced a few weeks ago. You may already have come across the new logo. Its look reflects the aim to offer the best possible quality, service and commit- ment in the projects GTL Europe under- takes together with the customer. The GTL team would like to invite you to take a look at the company website
www.gtl-europe. nl and put your name down for a free visit to the Mushroom Days! “We hope to be able to meet you at the Mushroom Days in ’s-Hertogenbosch, our stand number is 38”.
Hooymans Compost BV, stand 34 Mushrooms can be grown successfully in a variety of ways. Hooymans Compost offers a wide range of compost: inoculable and full-grown compost, compost for white and chestnut mushrooms, com- post for conventional and organic methods, com- post for manual and mechanical harvesting, with various supplements and options for extra cooling. Hooymans Compost’s ambition is to optimally supply every type of growing system, no matter the size and irrespective of the distance from Kerkdriel. Its own fleet of vehicles can supply compost in batches (more than one vehicle at the same time is also possible), and supply in bulk, which enables high volumes to be processed quickly. Third parties can also transport the bulk loads. The compost can also be supplied in blocks, and palletised, which offers the advantage of more flexibility in the type of transport chosen. To help reduce transport costs, casing soil can be delive- red at the same time as smaller volumes of compost. Hooymans also supplies compost in bulk and in big bales on pallets. This option combines flexible trans-

port with efficient processing of the compost on the farm. Supplying its products in blocks and big bales allows Hooymans Compost to serve customers all over the world. To meet the wishes and incorporate the ideas of its existing and new customers, both nationally and internationally, the focus of Hooymans Compost in their own words is on CCS; Customized Compost Supply.

latest results seem to have finally come to match the expectations. New ingredients have become available under different forms, and it has been possible to utilize new techniques used to develop other products in order to obtain a perfect blend with great texture and excellent performances. The new product called Energy Spawn has mainly two advantages. 1. Containing less “easily availa- ble carbs” than cereals, it is extremely difficult for the spawn to be attacked by competitive molds. 2. Speed of growth. From all the tests Italspawn car- ried out on phase 2 compost blocks, the compost was fully incubated after 12-13 days spawn run and was ready for casing. At the moment tests have been done mainly on phase 2 compost so it’s still early to predict what the results will be on phase 3 but the company is confident that the Energy Spawn should be available to customers after sum- mer.
Mycelia / SacO2, stand 1 Spawn producer Mycelia and bag manufacturer SacO2 have versatility and flexibility high on their list of priorities. Both companies endorse a philosophy of continuing innovation, as this is the only way to survive at the summit of the global mushroom sector. Mycelia’s approach focuses on three facets: the first and foremost activity of the company is producing mushroom mycelium for professional growers. The impres- sive collection of varieties contains more than 200 varieties and strains which are used to produce mother cultures, mother spawn and spawn for sales all over the world. Stable quality and traceability are of the greatest importance here. Mycelia also boasts an excellent reputation as a training centre. The company has organised courses for more than 15 years on the subjects of spawn production and the production of sterilised substrates and lignicolous mushrooms. Mycelia also helps develop new production laboratories and assists in reorganising existing laboratory facilities. The third sphere of activity is developing affordable filling and mixing equipment for spawn and substrate production. The key to the success of Mycelia machines is the combination of efficiency and simplicity. SacO2 is acknowledged as a global player in the development of technology for fil- ter systems. In the last two years, the company added another innovative product to its range: PE bags with extra gas exchange capacity. This addition to the standard assortment fully equips SacO2 to meet the stringent quality demands that are placed on the production of almost all mother spawns, spawn and sterilised substrates. The versatile production method used by SacO2 allows special types of bags to be developed and produced in high volumes. The bags can be customised in size, gas exchange capacity and the position of the filters. Both companies welcome you to visit them at stand 1, next to the entrance to the trade fair.
