Teacher-Turned- Rancher Finds a Match with Cattle Raisers Group Insurance
Circle J Ranch endorses Cattle Raisers Insurance.
HEN BREN JACKSON LEFT HER TEACHING CAREER IN 2004, she searched for medical insurance options that
would provide her and husband John with the same coverage they’d had when she was employed by the school system. “I shopped around,” she says, “and when we were
at the Cattle Raisers Convention one year we learned about the insurance they offer. I investigated the plans and that’s where we landed.” Jackson says she was able to closely match the in-
surance coverage she had as far as types of coverage and co-pays. Her favorite aspect of working with Cattle Raisers Insurance, so far, has been the customer ser- vice. “The staff has been very informative and helpful. That’s what I like about it. When you call the number someone answers the phone. I’m defi nitely an advocate for their customer service.” Bren and John run Circle J Ranch in Hardeman
County, near Quanah, where they produce commercial and registered Angus cattle. The most challenging part of moving from employer-provided insurance to a group insurance plan for the 2 of them was the paperwork, she says, “which wasn’t that bad. My advice to others looking for group insurance is to take your time and do your homework.” Jackson taught fi rst grade and says there’s not a lot
of difference in working with Angus calves and fi rst graders, but adds “You just don’t have to deal with as many calves in one day as you would kiddos!” Learn more about the group policies that can be
