NATIONWIDE PLATFORMS CONFIRMED EUROPE’S LARGEST IPAF TRAINING
PROVIDER Nationwide Platforms has retained its position as Europe’s largest IPAF training provider after training more than 12,500 delegates in 2015. In addition, Nationwide trained a further 1,500 delegates on a range of PASMA, IOSH and other Health and Safety courses.
In order to continue its expansion Nationwide Platforms have opened a dedicated training centre in Aberdeen and employed an additional two trainers to carry out training throughout the UK. The company has also incorporated IPAF’s new eLearning modules to its training portfolio, allowing delegates to complete the theory part of the course online before taking a supervised theory test and practical training at an IPAF-approved training centre.

HERTEL UK REACHES SAFETY LANDMARK OF 4M HOURS AT
SELLAFIELD Hertel UK Limited, which provides multi-disciplinary construction and maintenance services, has set a new safety landmark of 4 million hours without a lost-time incident at the Sellafield nuclear site in West Cumbria.
The milestone represents eight years of safe working and comes at the end of 12 months of complex projects on the site. This has included work in hazardous working areas and the complex deplanting process of heat exchanger top ducts and steelwork

With over 360 staff at Sellafield, Hertel UK provides maintenance services including access systems, asbestos management, mechanical and fabrication works. It is a delivery partner on the Multi-Disciplinary Site Works (MDSW) framework and is a main contractor for decommissioning work at Sellafield. It has worked at the site continuously for 26 years.
Kevin Law, Hertel UK’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Manager at Sellafield, said: “Reaching the 4 million hours safety landmark has been a real team effort. We face challenging and complex conditions every day and safety landmarks are only achieved by working together.
Tim Whiteman, IPAF Chief Executive, added: “IPAF congratulates Nationwide Platforms on such a consistent and solid performance in taking operator training right to the heart of many jobsites and helping to keep workers safe.”
Nationwide Platforms has 21 fully qualified instructors carrying out in excess of 30 training courses from customer sites or its 26 training centres throughout the UK. Part of the Lavendon Group plc.
