Jim Lythgow, Director of Strategic Alliances at Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, said: “This is a significant outcome, which I am sure will have an impact on the way eyecare at work is perceived and valued. For many years Specsavers has extolled the worth of corporate eyecare and educated employers and employees on the wider benefits it provides. It is rewarding to see that employers themselves are now aware of the extensive impact of eyecare.”

23% of employers stated that they believe eyecare in the workplace improves the morale of employees. This, coupled with the fact that just 1% of those surveyed believed that the benefits of eyecare at work lay in meeting statutory requirements, shows a key change in the way that eyecare is now viewed.

Jim Lythgow concludes: “A huge impact has been made on the way eyecare in the workplace is viewed. We are delighted with the results but are aware that there is still an educational role to be carried out among employers and employees alike – a role taken very seriously by Specsavers Corporate Eyecare.”
