Are your current Fire Evacuation Chairs fit for purpose?

Is it time to get over the person handling problems you’ve

experienced with your standard Fire Evacuation Chairs! ChairMate® is the first and only non motorised fire evacuation device to be brought to the worldwide market that overcomes the Person Handling issues experienced with other evacuation chairs. Predominately evacuation chairs have been designed to facilitate the evacuation of less able persons from a building with stairways, not wheelchair users. One of the key reasons for this is that some wheelchair users should not actually be moved from their wheelchair due to their particular medical condition. At KTP we listened to our clients feedback and concerns with regards to standard evacuation chairs and designed ChairMate. The key benefit with ChairMate is that it enables the safe evacuation of both wheelchair and non-wheelchair users and unlike standard evacuation chairs, the wheelchair user is kept with their wheelchair throughout the process and can be left in it after they have been taken to a safe area outside the building. ChairMate can then be re-used to assist others still left in the building.

The other significant difference between ChairMate and standard chairs is the weight ratio required between the operator and the person being evacuated. ChairMate can comfortably operate on a ratio of 40% where as standard chairs should be operated with an approximate ratio of 10%.

Put simply, ChairMate would easily deal with an operator of 10.5 stone and a person of 18 stone being evacuated. Plus, with its fail-safe brake and caterpillar track, it is by far the most fit for purpose product on the market today.

So now is the time to make your fire evacuation procedures fit for the 21st century.
