cleaners and for those old enough to remember, those ‘pineapple chunks’ that could be found in men’s urinals.


In his spare time, he was an avid follower of Stoke City and a keen fisherman, spending hours relaxing on the canal in Waverton, both of which were often the source of his funny stories, which he told to many on his travels.


Like others before, the Cleaning Industry has lost another fun-loving, charismatic member, who will be sadly missed, but he leaves behind many fond memories.

SANODA, DIES AGED 85 Here at Tomorrow’s Cleaning, we’re sad to report news that Don Bruce (formerly of SANODA), a life-long friend and supporter of the Cleaning Industry, has sadly passed away at the age of 85.


Many of you reading this will remember Don as a customer, supplier, partner, colleague or friend, but to all he was one of those people that was real fun to have around –


FLOORBRITE EXPANDS NATIONAL PORTFOLIO WITH MAJOR


BUSINESS WINS Sale-based cleaning and facilities service provider, Floorbrite, has this week announced a clutch of new national business contracts to the tune of £1.5m.


The news comes just eight months after Floorbrite announced record turnover of £10m as well as a new board of Directors. The new contracts mean the family run firm will now provide cleaning services across the whole of the UK.


The cleaning and facilities management firm will now provide full daily cleaning services in 18 cities across the UK, from Portsmouth to Cardiff and Aberdeen thanks to

gentle in his approach, assertive in conversation but always prepared to listen to others.


He was also incredibly proud of his slightly outrageous socks and ties which gave him a reputation amongst those that he met and ensured he was never forgotten.


While Sales Director at SANODA he was a familiar visitor to janitorial distributors in the UK and Ireland, as he chased orders for soap, detergents, air fresheners, toilet


winning a contract with Phoenix Medical, amongst others.


The North West business, which employs more than 1,000 people, acquired the additional £1.5m of new business in the last six months and marks a significant step forward for the firm hoping to achieve its ambitious 2020 growth target of £20 million.


Joint Managing Director, Nik Wyers, commented: “We’ve been operating nationally for some time, but we’re thrilled to have bolstered our national portfolio even further with these new business wins.


“Our heritage is firmly in the North West of England but working in different cities across the UK brings both opportunities and challenges for us and we’re looking forward to working with more customers from across the country.


Mark Hanson, Publisher of Tomorrow’s Cleaning, commented: “Don was one of the true gentlemen of the cleaning industry. He will be missed by many.


“My thoughts go out to his family at this sad time.”
