Happy New Year and welcome to the first Tomorrow’s Cleaning of 2016!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and that you’re fully recharged and ready to tackle whatever it is that the New Year will throw our way.

As the saying goes, we’re hoping to start as we mean to go on this month, with some great features to keep you entertained while you acclimatise to the return to normality after the Christmas festivities.

At the end of last year, I paid a special visit to Nilfisk’s UK headquarters up in Penrith, to talk with Managing Director for UK and Ireland Stewart Dennett about their recent acquisition of Contractor, as they aim to move into the Contract Cleaning market.

4 | Tomorrow’s Cleaning January 2016

Stewart, alongside Kris Crompton, Director at Contractor, told me all about the deal, and how it fits in to the company’s wider ‘Accelerate’ strategy.

Elsewhere, Colin Marshall, Director of Mitie’s transport cleaning operations, shares with us how they are utilising ‘Lean Six Sigma’ methodologies to increase efficiency, while also improving the passenger experience.

In other news, I’m delighted to say that the Tomorrow’s Cleaning Awards 2016 are now live and voting is officially open. Be sure to check out all of the 50 nominees in our Awards Guide before casting your all-important vote.

That’s all from us for now, so until next time, thanks very much and happy reading! EDITOR’S VOICE
