ENTRIES FOR TCF AWARDS 2016 NOW OPEN

Entries for the Tomorrow’s Contract Floors Awards 2016 are now open. We’re inviting you to tell us what you think have been the best product innovations and services available over the past 12 months.

After celebrating the best products and services in the industry over the past four years, this is the first awards under our new title. The Tomorrow’s Contract Floors Awards are a celebration of some of the finest innovations that enable you to get the job done on time and to the highest standards.

In a hotly-contested competition last year two training providers made it to our Top Three. A well-deserved first place went to FloorSkills training centre. Altro’s Aquarius safety flooring was voted into second place while The Academy for Excellence in Flooring came third.

Tomorrow’s Contract Floors editor Sarah Robinson is looking forward to seeing what products and services are entered in this year’s awards. She said: “Last year we received some fantastic entries and I’m really keen to see what our readers made of some of the great innovations that featured across our pages throughout the year. I look forward to seeing all of your nominations.”

To enter a product for this year’s awards, email Sarah at sarah@opusbm.co.uk with your favourite innovation and why it should be included. Nominations will be open until December, when a ‘Top 50’ Awards Guide will be produced in time for when voting opens in the New Year.

ABCD GROUP MEMBERS NET £4000 FOR CHILDREN’S CHARITY WITH ENDURANCE CHALLENGE

Four members of the ABCD Tile Group (Association of British Ceramic Distributors) have raised more than £4,000 for a children’s charity by completing an epic endurance race in the Lake District.

Stefan Firth, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Tile Co, Nick Braybrooke, Managing Director of Ceramic Tiles Ltd, Julian Hase, Managing Director at Hampshire Tile Warehouse and David Brown, Sales Director at Tileflair Ltd, competed in the Race the Sun – Lake District 2015 for Action Medical Research for Children.

The exciting triathlon-style adventure challenge saw the team cycle two legs of 25 miles each, hike to the summit of England’s second highest mountain –

Helvellyn at 3,116ft - and canoe a 3km course on Lake Thirlmere.

Competing as “Team ABCD”, the quartet braved 30mph winds and rain to finish the race in 8 hours 33 minutes, coming second out of 55 teams, winning the Senior Event and setting a new record time for both of the 25-mile cycle legs in the process.

Nick Braybrooke said: “The really good news is that with the help of all the companies and individuals who sponsored us, we have raised more than £4,000 for Action Medical Research for Children – which is dedicated to improving the health of sick and disabled babies and children.
