RECOFLOOR SCHEME WINS AWARD FOR


EXCELLENCE Recofloor has been recognised for its extensive waste vinyl flooring recycling work with a prestigious award in the Letsrecycle.com Awards for Excellence in Recycling & Waste Management 2016.


The unique Take Back and Recycling initiative, founded in 2009 by UK flooring manufacturers Altro and Polyflor, impressed the judges for tackling a difficult waste stream with the producers’ involvement to win the Waste Management Initiative in the Commercial and Public Sector category.

MODULYSS modulyss has launched its new floor design tool, the modulyss designer, which allows interior designers and architects to create unique floor layouts through an easy online tool.


On behalf of the judging panel, the Editor of Letsrecycle.com, Steve Eminton, said: “The judges were impressed that two companies within the industry had worked together to develop a collection network using reverse logistics. We hope that the scheme will thrive in the future.”


Recofloor engages with all levels of the flooring supply chain, offering cost-effective collections of uplifted vinyl flooring and installation off-cuts to contractors and fitters across the UK and Ireland with significant waste disposal cost savings.


Waste vinyl is diverted from landfill and recycled back into new products, including flooring – around 2,900 tonnes to date.


Recofloor Project Officer, Carla Eslava, was presented with the trophy by Liz Carroll, an Area Business Manager from Egbert Taylor Group and one of the sponsors, at the May presentation ceremony in London.

The randomise function is also a great way to create dynamic layouts with zero fuss, while all designs can be viewed in realistic 3D room scenarios. Once your design has been finalised, the tile calculator tells exactly how many of each product used you will need for your room size. What’s more, the modulyss designer slots straight into workflows, exported designs compatible with common design software such as Autocad.
