The Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina is one of the largest children’s hospitals treating the most complex conditions, and was the first to open a 24/7 emergency room for children in the region. A CUBEv5 was installed in the Children’s Emergency Department waiting room to entertain and calm children all hours of the day with a hybrid of engaging activities.
The dynamic Cube captivates children regardless of age or ability and alleviates stress by creating ambient environments for families and patients to explore through simple gestures as they discover the diverse interactive elements.

Since 2014, Levine has had numerous CUBE installations in many of their departments including two more CUBEs added to their Specialty Centre and one in their Children’s Oncology Clinic.
The CUBEv5 and GroundFX are both hands-free, safe and hygienic, but best of all they rejuvenate healthcare facilities by bringing joy and excitement to children and adults alike. As families enter hospital facilities, they are transported into a world of imagination with interactive ponds, playful ladybugs, mystical waterfalls, eye-catching fireworks, virtual football games, fields of blossoming flowers and so much more. The state-of-the-art technology is based on GestureTek Health’s multi-patented video gesture control technology, with advanced tracking that reads the position of the body and feet at all times, allowing for real-time movement and interaction with the displayed graphics.
The portable plug-and-play CUBE v5 is a turnkey system and can simply be placed on the ground and projected onto any
flat surface with scalable display sizes up to 136 inches diagonal. With the push of a button, engaging special effects and multimedia games are instantly projected onto any floor. GroundFX is the ceiling mounted version, allowing for images to project up to 16ft x10ft with one projector or even larger with two or three projectors.

Greenwich, Connecticut specialises in childcare and development, focusing on truly understanding their patients’ needs. Honoured as an award-winning installation, GroundFX provides entertainment to children and families in the clinics reception area. It was installed not only to take the fear out of coming to see the doctor but also to make it a place children would want to go back to.
