Youngsters at Legacy Games
G
HA’s three Area Committees make a big difference to people’s homes and lives.
The committees fund improvements to communities and projects to help tenants lead better lives. Here’s a quick snapshot of some
projects the committees support all over the city, all year round. In the NORTH EAST, almost 1000 schoolkids took part in the Legacy Games at the Emirates Arena. Youngsters from 22 primary schools took part in sports including the 60m, long jump and javelin. Charity FARE organised the annual event in partnership with GHA. The North East Area Committee also helped organise three colourful parades last month - at Alexandra Park, Springburn Park and in Easterhouse - to bring communities together. In the SOUTH, a group of young people graduated from the SWAYED by Youth Work course, part-funded by the South Area Committee, and will now be youth workers across the south.
And the new-look Carnwadric
Community Hall, in Kiloran Street, is to re-open soon after a refurbishment. For bookings, phone 07711 590 234 or email
kiloranstreethall@gmail.com In the NORTH WEST, almost 450 pupils from schools in Drumchapel took part in the Drumwealth Games.
