12 News On target for success

GHA aims to deliver excellent services – and we set targets to measure how we’re doing. The Scottish Housing

Regulator also expects all social landlords, including GHA, to perform well and monitors what we do. Here are our latest

performance figures: n Percentage of tenants satisfied with the overall service provided by

GHA – 90.43% n Reactive repairs completed right first time – 96.54% (target 96%) n Average time to let homes – 13.6 days (target 14.5 days) n Gross rent arrears – 3.87% (target 3.85%) n Value of sitting tenant arrears - £3.6m We’ll keep you updated on our performance figures in future editions of the Key.

Our communal TV aerial developed a fault in our row of terraced houses. I use hearing aids and trying to report a fault over the phone is difficult. Can you help? Charles Wood, Corkerhill Place Thanks for your letter Charles. The aerial was fixed the next day.

Dear the Key Could you arrange for the trees and bushes in my back garden to be cut back? I’ve been a tenant for 32 years and they haven’t been cut in all that time. My grandchildren can’t now use the trampoline and the trees also block out sunshine. Charlotte Marshall, Bellahouston Drive Thanks for your letter Charlotte. Our arborists will get to you as soon as they can.

Dear the Key I received a disc through the post with no idea whether it was a DVD or CD, nor indeed its contents. Can you enlighten me? Donato Gizzi, Lloyd Street We’ve spoken to you about this Donato. It was the audio version of the Key for people who are visually impaired. It should be clearly marked on the CD from now on. Remember, if you are visually impaired, or you know someone who is, and want a version of the Key in audio form, email thekey@gha.org.uk

Huge thanks to the electrician who sorted our close door and took the time to explain what was wrong and how to prevent it happening again. Stevie Barr, Paisley Road West Thanks for letting us know Stevie.

LETTER

Dear the Key Could you please give the concierge team at 60 Strowan Street a heartfelt thanks from me? I suffer from chronic back pain and when I asked for some help they were up two minutes later to clean all my rubbish away. They also keep the blocks spotless. They are a credit to GHA and don’t get the recognition they deserve. Terry Scullion, Strowan Street Thanks, Terry. We’ve passed on your kind words to John O’Hara and the team.

Dear the Key

I am 71 and need some help with my garden. My front garden hasn’t been done right and is still a mess. I am so ashamed. They didn’t use as strimmer round the side or cut the hedge. Everyone around me has such a nice garden. Please help. Margaret Wilcox, Killoch Drive Thanks for your letter Margaret. We’ve already spoken to you about this and asked you to contact the council who already maintain your garden.

Dear the Key Can you clear up for me whether the Handyperson should use ladders instead of standing on the windowsill to clean our windows? Our windowsills are not safe and should never be stood on. I’m trying to make a nice house, not destroy it. Edith Holmes, Royston Road Very sorry to hear about this Edith. This should never have happened and we’ve apologised to you. Yes, our Handyperson should use ladders for high windows. We’ve reminded our staff about this. From now on, we’ll contact a random sample of people getting their windows cleaned to make sure protocol is followed.
