Owners have their say H
OMEOWNERS in a Glasgow community are making a difference to their area.
The Craigend GHA Homeowners’ Group is working in partnership with YourPlace and other partners to improve the flats in the neighbourhood. The forum and YourPlace have
worked closely together since 2007 to solve issues and concerns raised by owners.
A number of owners in Craigend had new front and back close doors fitted. The forum told YourPlace that
owners were worried about the costs. YourPlace staff were on hand to offer help and advice and were happy to set up repayment plans to spread the costs. It took away the worry of having to pay a large bill in one payment. The group meets every two months at St Dominic’s Hall, Mossvale Road, with YourPlace, GHA, local councillors
and MSPs regulars at the meetings. The next meeting is Monday 11 January 2016. Lena Wallace, Chair of the group, said: “We are keen for as many local owners as possible to attend our meetings. We’re a friendly group and want to make sure owners in the Craigend area have their say.” Vicky Aitken, Service Improvement
Lead at YourPlace, said: “We’re delighted to work with local residents groups. The Craigend GHA Homeowners group is a great example of how we can have an open discussion and share ideas with residents to make improvements in their area.” Homeowners in
Craigend who wish to become part of the forum should contact Kris Hardie
