LEHMAN’S LATEST, GREATEST GOLF COURSE AT VERRADO WILL BE UNIQUELY DIFFERENT FROM ORIGINAL LAYOUT

LL IS NOT QUIET ON the western front of Phoenix, where Verrado Golf Club is about to
shake up the Arizona golfscape with its second upscale championship course. Tucked into the foothills of the White Tank Mountains, the new Victory Course will join the original Verrado Course in mid-January to form one of the most distinctive one-two punches in Arizona golf. The latest, greatest offering from the Tom Lehman Design Group will be the

primary amenity of a new 55-plus active adult community called — just like the course — Victory. But this is not a private club, or even a country club, as much as it is a fun-filled, adult neighborhood being created by Scottsdale-based DMB. In fact, there is no golf membership
at the moment for the Victory golf course, although an annual membership will be available in the future. The idea is that Victory will be open to the public for a “reasonable green fee” that has yet to be determined, and that the residents of Victory will be
able to play the course via discounted rates and preferred tee times. Sound different for a company (DMB)
that is known for its elite clubs that often include six-figure memberships at prestigious places like Silverleaf and DC Ranch in Scottsdale, and Forest Highlands in Flagstaff? According to Nick Taratsas, general manager for the Victory project, a lot of research was done on baby boomers and empty nesters prior to the opening of Victory, which he called a “private community within a public community.”
