Blaise Farm The parish council would forward notifications about blasting at Blaise Farm to residents and ask people to keep a log of the date, time and effect of blasts. The parish council would strenuously object to any formal application to increase the size of the blasts, but itwas important that residents also object. Detailswere on the parish council’swebsite. PondAworking party had helped to maintain the pond and duck signs had been installedwarning cars to drive carefully. Signs The parish council had purchased two signs to be placed at either end of the village during events such as May day,warning that there would be traffic congestion. Trees The village had been entered into the Kent Men of Trees annual competition. Meeting The annual parish meetingwas well-aended by about 60 people.AKent association of Local Councils Community Awardwas presented to Clare Innes and OamVillageAwardswent to Val Taylor and Stewart Malcolm, recognising their significant and long-standing contribution to the village. Land Rover parked on the road in Swallow Road, Larkfield. Damagewas caused to the front gate of a property in Saltings Road, Snodland. In Mackenders Lane, Eccles, a garage at a


housewas broken into. Avehicle parked in Belgrave Street,


Aylesford,was broken into. Agarage in Teston Road,Wateringbury,


was broken into and a tool box and assorted toolswere stolen. Some games, console accessories, mobile phones, keys and clotheswere stolen from a house in Aylesford High Street. Play equipment belonging to Leybourne


Parish Councilwas damaged in Oxley Shaw Lane.


Catalytic converterswere stolen from a Mazda tipper truck and a LDV minibus parked in the road in Lakeview Close,

Birling Parish Councilwas carrying out a traffic count and some actionwas going to be taken at the top of Woodgate Road at the request of Addington Parish Council. The chairman would investigate whether a commercial use did require planning permission. Speed KCC Highways had been asked to consider measures to reduce the speed of traffic through the village. It had replied that some Section 106 moneywas available and the clerk had requested a meeting. It also suggested that the village adopt a Speedwatch scheme. Parish maintenance Work had been carried out to the Resource Room by Cllrs Emson and Storey. Itwas almost finished and just needed filling with books, records, jigsaws and games. Cllr Storey had purchased a notice board for it. He had asked two local children to act as monitors for it, encouraging children to get involved. He would request a door adjuster from BT to prevent the door closing so heavily. Dogwaste The dogwaste bin had been moved to its correct location.


Wateringbury


Co-option Frances Fieldingwas co-opted to fill the vacancy on the parish council. Thanks The chairman confirmed the resignation of Dennis Stones and thanked him for all his hard work and support while hewas on the council.Aleer of thanks would be sent. County report County Cllr Mahew Balfour reported that in the Local Transport Plan, Kent County Council had identified improvements needed to theWateringbury crossroads. If fundswere available in future this would be looked at. The question of changes to Arriva buseswas raised. Cllr Balfour said KCC had nothing to do with this as itwas a commercial service, butwere doing all they could to raise the problems


these changes would cause. Drayhorse Meadow The chairman stated a lease had not been signed as the proposed tenant had a number of issues to raise and it was hoped to clarify these and complete soon. The trees that needed cuing back had been done.Any repairs to the roof would be done. Car park Cllr Marks reported on a site meeting he had with Mike Hoiles, chairman of the village hall commiee, regarding the car park. Mr Hoiles stated he felt that the use of the car park by commercial vehicleswas impinging on local business during the day. He felt that pay and display would affect the smaller day time users. Mr Hoiles also discussed the problems with the CCTV. Therewas no service agreement with the supplier, Chroma Vision, and the cameras had not been serviced for some years. Chroma Vision had looked at the cameras and would let the council have a wrien report on their findings. Therewas a £90 call out charge. Cllr Marks suggested Tonbridge and Malling Council is asked if any formal legal agreementwas in place regarding parking and the possibility of the parish council taking over the running of the car park. Cllr Fielding said the cost of resurfacing the car park would be horrendous. Cllr Marks said any costs would be down to the borough council. It was also suggested to look again at replacing the height barrier that Tonbridge and Malling Council had removed. Allotments All invoices had been sent. Therewas one vacant allotment. Cemetery The car park had been cleared of rubbish including signs of possible drug use. Itwas suggested that the council write to request the hedge be removed completely and replaced with fencing. Public discussion The planters on the station platformwere overgrown. Trees at the village hall needed to be looked at especially the fir tree whichwas now hanging over the pavement. Therewas still a problem withwater splashing up against the Post Office door from repairs done to the road. It would be reported again. Fete Therewere still places available for the village fete which had 33 stalls and activities arranged. Volunteerswere still needed to help on the day.

The shed alarm is thought to have disturbed the offenders and nothingwas taken. Footballswere stolen when a shedwas broken into at a school in Norman Road, West Malling. Ared 250cc quad bikewas stolen from a


drive in Red Hill,Wateringbury. Someone tried to break into a shed in Kingfisher Road, Larkfield, but no access was gained. AFord Kuga and a Vauxhall Corsawere


keyed on the same evening in Lunsford Lane, Larkfield.


Avehiclewas found in Amisse Drive, Snodland, with all its windows smashed. Awing mirrorwas broken off a vehicle parked in Bridgewater Place, Leybourne. Two youthswere senn running away. Awhite BT Openreach Ford Transitwas damaged and a generator stolen from it in High Street, Snodland.
