Distinguished Alumni mid-March. Baylor grad Shelbi White was named for Business. Texas A&M University’s Jessica Leatherwood was rec- ognized for Education, Vivianna Dunlap for Equine (Medical/Pharmaceutical), and Paige Linn as Young Alumni. Championship Event in Waco April 12. The Equine Disease Communications Cen-


ter (EDCC) confirmed the first case of equine in- fectious anemia (EIA) in Oklahoma for 2017 on March 17. The horse was located in Choctaw County and had been actively involved in rodeo and roping events. It was euthanized. Per the EDCC, “Once an animal is infected with EIA, it is infected for life and can be a reservoir for the spread of the disease.”
