Pin Oak Charity Show How the Pin Oak Brand
makes Quality Different Different is the name of the game here at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show in Katy, Tex- as. As President, Lynn Walsh sets out to distin- guish Pin Oak, as a brand of its own that offers a unique equestrian experience.
Reflections from Pin Oak Pres- ident, Lynn Walsh and General Manager, Philip DeVita
Plans are set in motion, well before the horse show begins, to make the event as wel- coming as possible. This is no ordinary horse show, but a boutique show, offering the highest level of hospitality that caters to its exhibitors, spectators and its cherished sponsors. “We are really grateful for our sponsors,”
said Walsh. “It is because of the sponsors that this is all possible.” Nearly $250,000, of sponsorship, is ben-
efiting the Texas Children’s Hospital, Candle- lighters Family Support, and the Ronald Mc- Donald House family rooms in the hospital. Sponsorship gives Pin Oak a level of quality; a brand that is identifiable, not just in the Texas area, but across the country.
Exhibitors travel great distances to com- pete here at Pin Oak. Riders are not just com- peting for the winning blue ribbon but are com- peting for children to win against a myriad of
medical battles. Those taking part in the historic Pin Oak Charity horse show are taking part in a greater cause and spreading the very essence that makes Pin Oak great. “But it’s more than that,” said Walsh. “The Great Southwest Equestrian Center is a great facility and I am very grateful that they continue to upgrade it. Every year something is newer and different. They are very conscious of the footing, which is very good here. In speaking with the trainers, they love coming here because we are differ- ent, welcoming and friendly.” Philip DeVita, general manager of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show, spoke highly of the quality and brand that Pin Oak has established. “It’s always amazing to me the boutique atmosphere this horse show has. People enjoy that, and want to be at shows that are not generic. Pin Oak has such a great mystique that draws people. I’ve never seen the stands that full as they were Saturday night.” The future aspiration is to continuous- ly improve the qualitative standards that brand the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. The ongoing efforts to distinguishing it- self through its unique atmosphere and welcoming hospitality will keep people returning for years to come. w
