Since it’s inception, the Missouri Choral Directors Association has been fortunate to have key individuals serve the organization in various capacities, for extended periods of time. Sometimes only the leadership of MCDA is aware of the significant contributions that are made in order to provide our membership with necessary resources. This is certainly true in the case of Thomas Lowery and Nicholas Urvan.


Tom Lowery took on the role of Webmaster in 2000! His willingness over the years to edit, tweak, invent, maintain, and sustain our website has been remarkable. A few years back, he worked tirelessly to completely revamp our website in order to build a resource that not only provides a variety of information for our state’s choral directors, but also serves as one-stop shopping for all things related to the Missouri All-State Choir. In 2014 Tom was awarded the Sandquist Presidential Award of Excellence to recognize his contributions. Our sincere thanks goes to Tom Lowery for his long tenure as MCDA Webmaster. Tom hands off his duties to our new Webmaster, Mike Pierson. Mike started his career as a choral director at Centralia High School and for the last 13 years has led the stellar program at Rockbridge High School. He holds a Bachelor of
