The new surgical suites will significantly increase the hospital’s capacity to 13,015 procedures as compared to 7,867 performed in 2011. The new Cancer Centre will also be located in this wing and, according to Alberta Health Services, will be able to handle 13,015 patient visits a year. The expanded and renovated hospital is expected to meet the needs of the region for the next 20-25 years.
