“I’ll always love home,” she said. “Growing up on a farm with all of my family around me will be something I'll remember forever — we would always drive into town for me to do different things for either music or acting — that part of me will always be there.”


Getting involved in music at the age of four, and professionally acting at 13 gave Porter an early start at what would eventually become her career, and she says she is forever grateful to her parents for pushing her to be the best she could be.

We’re so glad to welcome all of our participants to the 2017 Festival and look forward to hearing your performances! We are also thrilled to welcome adjudicators, teachers, parents, and audience members this year. Thank you all for your dedication to encouraging the youth in our community to enjoy and participate in the arts.


While this is a “competition”, it is also a “festival” and as such, is meant to be enjoyable, educational, and to promote a greater appreciation for music and the arts in the lives of those in our community, as well as “pacing each other on the road to excellence”.
