AN ACADEMIC YEAR IN REVIEW
Nick Haeg ‘16 of Sauk Centre, was awarded an all-expense-paid summer study trip to Germany. Nick is the son of Benedict and Claire Haeg of Sauk Centre and the sister of Stephanie Haeg ‘14 of Saint Joseph. Nick was selected as a national winner after scoring in the 99th percentile on the Level IV 2016 National German Exam for High School Students sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German. Nick had the highest score in Minnesota. Over 21,000 students participated in the program.
Pamela McCarthy of the Latin School of Chicago is named Principal.
Saint John’s Prep Theatre Department staged the Broadway original production of Peter Pan March 11-13. More than 70 Students in grades 6-12 took part in the spectacular production. Peter Pan received Spotlight Awards from the Hennepin Theatre Trust including: outstanding performances for Grace Knoblach as Peter Pan’18 and Sam Rogers ‘16 as Mr. Darling and Captain Hook. The technical crew was awarded Technical Leadership Honors for Lila Furcht ‘16, Lionel Wichman ‘16 Seanen Lee ‘16 as stage managers and Giglia Beretta ‘16 for sound design.
Saint John’s Prep is proud to congratulate Middle School Teacher Dan Stark for being named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Prairie Conference Coaches Association.
Marisa Gaetz ‘16 and Gabe Johnson ‘16 were named the 2016 Saint John’s Prep “Triple A (Academics, Arts and Athletics) Award” recipients by the Minnesota State High School League for their achievements in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the fine arts. Marisa is the daughter of Rick ‘75 and Rose Gaetz, and sister of Christian Gaetz ‘12. Marisa went on to be honored as a state Triple A Award recipient. She is now studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Gabe is the son of Phil and Kathy Johnson and brother of Levi Johnson ‘12. Gabe is now studying at Saint John’s University.
