FROM THE VP OF ADVANCEMENT Dear Saint John’s Prep Supporters,

When I arrived at Saint John’s Prep just over a year ago, I was excited to be joining a proud community steeped in tradition and committed to excellence. What I experienced in my first year has me even more confident that the future of the Prep School is bright.

Whether I was visiting with alumni/ae and friends of the Prep School in Arizona, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Washington, D.C., St. Cloud, Melk, Williamsburg, Virginia, or in Collegeville, I was impressed with the character of our alumni/ae and friends. While they have all taken different routes in life, they credit the Prep School for inspiring them to strive for greatness in all aspects of their lives. I believe that this appreciation for the role Saint John’s Prep has played in the lives of our alumni/ ae and friends is one of the reasons we achieved fundraising success this year. It is also the reason I believe we will continue to grow our support as others reflect on the role the Prep School has played in their lives.

We are excited and grateful for the support of our alumni/ae and friends. Without it, we would not be able to maintain the proud legacy that is Saint John’s Preparatory School. One need not look any further than the Class of 1966 to see firsthand the impact alumni/ae can make on current and future Preps. Recognizing the opportunity they had to make a difference, the Class of ‘66 celebrated their 50th class reunion by making a reunion gift totaling more than $150,000. More importantly, they are committed to being sustainers, not just one time donors. Thank You Class of ’66. Your support is appreciated and will have a lasting impact. I am excited to share that the Class of ’67 has accepted the challenge to offer a 50th Reunion class gift this June!

Speaking of alumni/ae, I am so grateful for the participation demonstrated by Preps at the many events hosted by the school or coordinated by Preps themselves. From the Melk Reunion held in Austria in June, to the all school reunion at the Prep School, to the Twin Cities Christmas Lunch in St. Paul, to the Holiday Happy Hour in Minneapolis, to the Young Alumni Christmas gathering in St. Michael Hall, to the Standups in Arizona, California, and Washington D.C, to the monthly gatherings of the Class of ’52 in the Twin Cities, to the Preps at the Park gathering at the Saint Paul Saints game, Preps coming together reminds us all that the people who share this Prep School bond have been blessed with a unique experience. It is an experience and a bond we must ensure remains for future generations. If you have not joined us at a recent event, I hope you will join us soon. Once a Prep, Always a Prep!

I want nothing more than to see Saint John’s Prep continue to prepare young men and young women for success in college and life. We will continue to work tirelessly to meet the needs of our current and future students. To do so, we ask for your continued financial support and prayers. To maintain financial stability and plan for the future, we will continue to focus our efforts on growing student enrollment, increasing participation in annual giving, and establishing new endowed scholarships while growing the current endowment, which provides both scholarship and operational support. Tuition revenue, annual giving, and endowment support provide for our annual operational budget. Annual giving support and endowment growth will undoubtedly have an impact on enrollment as we will be able to offer increased financial support to students in addition to making strategic investments in academic and co-curricular programming, which are critical to remain competitive in an increasingly competitive educational market.

Thank you for the many ways you help us ensure that this proud institution we all are a part of remains a pillar of academic excellence for many years to come. I hope to see you soon.

With gratitude,

Aaron Miller Vice President of Advancement
