CLASS OF 1966 REUNION
The Class of 1966 celebrated their 50th class reunion with a gift of $153,332 to the Annual Fund. The class gave Abbot John Klassen, OSB ‘67 and Headmaster Fr. Jonathan Licari OSB the BIG check at the annual Twin Towers Club dinner on Friday, June 17, 2016. Chris ‘66 and Darla Twomey provided a matching gift of $75,000 to help the class reach this monumental achievement. The Class of 1966’s gift is unrestricted and will be put toward the 2016 fiscal year annual fund goal of $400,000! Chris, Darla and the Class of 1966 challenged each other to make a life-changing difference in the lives of Saint John’s Prep students. They’re now inspiring the Class of 1967 to launch their own 50th reunion year challenge.
The Annual Fund supports student scholarships and programs. Two-thirds of current Prep students receive some form of financial assistance. The gifts from the Class of 1966, and all of our donors, makes that assistance possible.
For more than 150 years, the monks of Saint John’s Abbey donated their time, talent and treasure to the students of the Prep School. While the Abbey and monks still provide leadership and spiritual guidance, Saint John’s Prep is financially independent. Now, it’s up to alumni/ae, parents and past parents, grandparents and friends to make sure their tradition of excellence continues.
