POWERHOUSE, NORWAY SKANSKA
Skanska Norway will build the world's northernmost energy-positive office building at the waterfront of Brattørkaia in Trondheim, Norway. Powerhouse Brattørkaia was designed to achieve the highest environmental certification – BREEAM NOR 'Outstanding' – and will produce more clean and renewable energy than necessary for its construction, operation and disposal. This will be achieved through optimal use of sun and sea water for heating and cooling, as well as an extremely low energy consumption. Construction will start in April and the office building will be completed in February 2019.

YVES SAINT LAURENT MUSEUM, MARRAKECH, MOROCCO STUDIO KO
The new Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech will open its doors in autumn 2017. The new building has been designed by the French architecture firm Studio KO and will span over 4,000 m2
and is
more than just a museum. It features a 400 m2 permanent exhibition space. From the outside, the building is composed of cubic forms adorned with bricks which create a pattern resembling threads of fabric. The inside is markedly different, “like the lining of a luxurious couture jacket.” Built of terracotta, concrete and an earthen coloured terrazzo with Moroccan stone fragments, the building blends harmoniously with its surroundings. LEAF ACADEMY, SLOVAKIA BOGLE ARCHITECTS
Bogle Architects won an international competition to design a new boarding school for LEAF Academy near Bratislava, Slovakia. The new campus, which will be built on former farmland in Vistuk, has been designed “entirely contemporary in feel” and is set to become a “sensible addition to its agricultural setting” according to Bogle Architects director Barbora Markechova. Bogle used Passivhaus design solutions including passive solar gain and natural ventilation throughout the scheme, and some of the buildings have been created to achieve a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certification. The campus will include four blocks with farmstead-inspired pitched roofs providing student dormitories and teacher accommodation, and five learning facilities arranged around a public square.
