China Links has brought out its first Japan brochure under its Japan Links Travel brand and more than trebled its range of tours in the country.
The operator had featured the destination in its China brochure, but said increased demand for Japan prompted it to launch a standalone programme.
China Links has increased its
Japan tours range from four to 14. It is offering seven group tours
and seven self-guided itineraries as well as tailor-made product. It has also launched a website,
japanlinkstravel.co.uk, which includes an agent portal and features product training. Agents now account for about
70% of the operator’s sales. UK sales manager Charlie
Cooper said: “We are getting more enquiries for Japan than ever
before and this gives us much better branding and awareness in the trade. Agents think about us for China, but not often for Japan. “This will give our trade
EXPANDED: Debut Japan brochure features 14 tours
partners much greater choice and flexibility in selling Japan, which is a destination that is firmly back in favour.” Cooper said sales to the destination had recovered since the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in the country, adding that events such as the 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2020 Olympics would further boost Japan’s popularity. Group tour prices start from
£2,899, including flights, for a nine-day Essential Japan tour; the self-guided nine-day Classic
Japan tour costs from £2,300.
