Cover Photo: Award winning kitchen by Annette Starkey, CKD, CBD of Living Environment Design. A renovation to this 75 year old home is capped off by using materials that give a nod to timeless industrial style finishes without making the kitchen feel cold and institutional. The custom brushed finish on the metal gives it a patina reminiscent of the industrial age. The materials like the cork flooring had to be functional, easy to maintain and not so trendy that the space would look dated in a few years. The designer’s focus on function and attention to space planning challenges resulted in a kitchen that will last for the next 75 years!
