Global travel… exposes many people to a range of health risks. Many of these risks can be minimised by precautions taken before, during and after travel. World Health Organisation
DEALING WITH ILLNESS & INJURY
Illness or injury can strike anyone but they remain among the most common problems encountered while travelling abroad. With a little forward planning, you can protect your health when travelling and avoid unexpected medical costs.
Are you fit to travel?
A pre-travel health check can go a long way to ensuring you stay in good health while overseas. Underlying medical conditions can be identified and addressed before travelling, with medical care received in a familiar setting without language barriers. A pre-travel screening can also highlight any recommended working adjustments and reduce the risk of a secondment being cut short due to illness.
European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
The EHIC is free and entitles individuals to free or reduced-cost treatment in the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
