Winter Wonderland fun. CANAD INNS WINTER
WONDERLAND Dec. 2 to Jan. 7 Red River Exhibition Park This is Manitoba’s largest drive-thru light show and a Winnipeg holiday tradi- tion. It provides a brilliant presentation of over one million lights on a 2.5 kilo- metre route between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. while you listen to holiday music. Come by Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting) for a complimen- tary sleigh ride, complete with built in fireplace. It’s completely enclosed and really cozy! As the weather gets colder, there will be a skating rink for use. It’s free with admission. Stay tuned for the rink opening date.

MUNSCHBUSTERS! Dec. 22 to Jan. 8 Prairie Theatre Exchange It’s another holiday season with a high- energy, madcap presentation of the stories of Robert Munsch for your family to enjoy. This year, get ready for tons of surprises, with lots of high-octane energy and loads of laughs. NUTCRACKER Dec. 22 to 30 RWB at the Centennial Concert Hall Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Nutcracker is renowned for its unique Canadian scenes and has become a treasured holiday tradition for many. The snowy pond hockey game, the battle on Parlia- ment Hill, the Mounties — these are a few features of Nutcracker that have become endearing to many audiences. BIG FUN FESTIVAL Jan. 25 to 29 Various venues in Winnipeg Big Fun is an annual music festival held over five days in various venues across downtown Winnipeg. A multi-genre event, Big Fun showcases Winnipeg’s wealth of musical talent. At Big Fun you will see acts ranging from punk to hip-hop to folk and everything in between. The festival starts Wednesday evening with multiple shows and parties throughout Winnipeg’s downtown neighbourhood, closing with a matinee folk breakfast show on the Sunday.
