Regional Stories - Winter 2016

and women is a unique feature to the sport of Ultimate. For us, there is an opportunity to not only achieve a greater level of success by pooling the best players from a small centre, but also to grow, play and learn as a heterogeneous team. Personal growth occurs through all levels of sport, but the chance to do so with players who are diverse and who have different worldviews from your own, is too often overlooked. We are fortunate to play on a mixed team and will continue to do so.

Since our start in 2012, we have witnessed a growth in the number of players who want to play competitive Ultimate in our community. With this comes a shift. A shift to perhaps not being able to take the new and inexperienced players and tough

cuts of players who have been with us along the way. There is a level of nostalgia in ¬looking at the past five years, but with growth and progress must come change.
