The “Peace” is a region in northwestern Alberta and northeastern British Columbia. The Peace region name comes from the Peace River, which is 1900km long, and has dozens of cities, towns and villages parallel to it. To many outsiders, this region is considered isolated, especially during its harsh winter season.


The city of Dawson Creek, BC, for example is considered “South Peace” and is part of the Peace River Regional District, and is located just a 15-minute drive away from the Alberta border.


Inter-provincial collaboration


In the last 15 years, the oil & gas sector has rapidly developed in the Peace region, increasing inter-provincial migration, work and play. There has been an ever-growing disc sports scene in the city of Peace River and Grande Prairie with PRUDES (Peace River Ultimate Disk Entertainment Squad) and the Grande Prairie Ultimate Club & Grande
