SOUND, TITLES AND CREDITS EDITING
Since the film is a musical, there is a variety of the types of sound heard, like the instrumental music played by Sebastian at the club or the lively musical number towards the end of the trailer. These are essential when making a trailer for a musical, so that the audience know the types of songs that will be in the films.
The titles and credits which are shown throughout the trailer and are stylized in a 1920s font. This is meant to give homage to the classical 1920s musicals which La La Land is similar to and tries to reflect through the use of these fonts.
The titles are in a white font in front of purple colour gradient which is clear and easy to read. The colour purple is continually used throughout the trailer, for the purpose of continuing the illusion of La La Land.
Towards the end of the trailer, it shows Academy Award recognition for the actors in a large text. This is so that the audience watching whom either likes the actors in the film or like prestigious awards would enjoy watching the film.
