Listed: the Thames Valley companies taking AIM
AIM, the London Stock Exchange’s international market for smaller growing companies, is the most successful growth market in the world. Since its launch in 1995, over 3,600 companies from across the globe have chosen to join, and 53 of these are here in the Thames Valley
sponsors
The following pages feature a new and special A-to-Z listing of the region’s companies on AIM, which makes for interesting reading.
Not surprisingly the listing incorporates a wide range of businesses, from early-stage, venture-capital-backed companies through to more established firms; and from businesses with just three employees to ones with over 3,000.
Industry sectors vary widely too, with the top three being software with eight entries, biotechnology with six and business support services with five. Turnover ranges from £0.29 million to nearly £300m, and market cap from £0.8m to £620.3m. The town with the most entries is Guildford, and Oxford and Reading are close on its heels.
In 2016 there have been two new companies from the Thames Valley region: specialist IT security services firm Osirium Technologies, based in Theale near Reading, and Guildford-based financial services company Premier Asset Management.
AIM offers smaller, growing companies a world-class public market in a regulatory environment which is designed to meet their needs. All companies who are seeking a listing, primarily on AIM, or planning to grow through alternative funding opportunities, are invited to join us for the following event.
