enowned English brand New & Lingwood is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

Known for its bespoke and ready-to- wear suiting, shirts, hosiery, sleepwear, footwear and silk accessories, New & Lingwood continues to uphold its proud traditions of high quality and eccentricities from the heart of St James’s in London. It is also the place to go for those more unique pieces such as opera cloaks, smoking hats and tartan slacks. This iconic firm was created in 1865 by Elisabeth New and Samuel Lingwood

in Eton. They started by out by serving the scholars of Eton College and New & Lingwood remains one of the official outfitters for the college today. The Eton store was refurbished in 2015 to coincide with the anniversary, including the addition of the elegant club room where both pupils and gentleman can receive personal tailoring. The London store opened 57 years later on Jermyn Street and continues to offer customers great service today, something that remains at the forefront of New & Lingwood’s philosophy. In addition to the personal tailoring, New & Lingwood also offers a bespoke shirt making service. In fact, New & Lingwood believes the luxury and pleasure of the perfect fitting shirt is an experience in which everybody should try for themselves at some point in their life. Q

of 150 cashmere colours, inspired by Scottish landscapes and seascapes, to celebrate its 150th anniversary. Using a clever palette of heather, forest green, moss and sea blue hues, 34 of which are completely new, this collection acknowledges more than a century of cashmere scarf manufacturing and design. In addition, all 150 colours have also been incorporated into a wonderfully colourful and limited- edition, bold check scarf. Only 150 of these scarves have been made for sale around the world, with each one clearly numbered and accompanied by a special anniversary label. The celebrations do not end there though as a traditional weight “Arran” cashmere scarf has also been created to mark the anniversary. Featuring an attractive Paisley and Teasel screen-print design – reflecting the company's origins in the town of Paisley and the Italian dried teasel flower heads used to create the signature ripple finish on Begg's Arran scarves – this scarf is available in four colour options – flannel blue, flannel teal, black wine and camel teal.
