IT’S A GREAT SUMMER MORNING FROM LINCOLN!


Greetings everyone. I hope that you are having a great summer this far and hopefully have been able to enjoy some fun with family and friends.


As always, the Association office is buzzing with activities and opportunities to tell the Trucking industry’s stories of safety, job creation and business investment. I would like to officially welcome our new Vice President, Sheila O’Connor. She has now been through a couple of month’s activities and is out meeting and making as many friends as possible. Our goal of becoming an organization that uses every opportunity we can to communicate with our members in person, in print, and in social media is coming true. If Sheila or Doug reach out for help or a personal meeting please don’t hesitate to answer their call and meet with them if they are in your area. On the other hand, please don’t hesitate to email or call any of us if you have questions or concerns.


Among some of our best organized and attended events, our SkillsUSA diesel tech competition, the Nebraska Truck Driving Championships and the upcoming SuperTech competition have or will produce another year of record setting participation and a new group of winners. Congratulations to this year’s winners of the NTDC, SkillsUSA and soon-to-compete SuperTech winners. We truly appreciate all of the contestants’ willingness to compete in these challenges and allow us to showcase each of them as some of our “best of the best” in Nebraska at each of their upcoming national competitions. Please take a moment to review who our winners are and send them a note or email of congratulations and support for their national competition. Tese competitors are highly likely to be our new leaders in our workforce of tomorrow and serve as great examples of what can be accomplished in our transportation, distribution, warehousing and logistics career pathway. A huge thank you to the company owners and leaders within companies that help support and encourage their contestants.


It’s that time of year again, where it’s time to remind you to keep sending in your drivers of the month candidates and the “Of the year” awards candidates. We will be reminding you in our Good to Know weekly publication on how and when the deadlines occur.


Tank you for your continued support of the NTA, TSI and all of our services. We are all here to serve your needs and do our best to help tell the trucking industry’s story.
