National Health and Fitness Day
O
n December 2014, Bill-S211, National Health and Fitness Day
(NHFD) was proclaimed by law, thus making it a nationally celebrated day. NHFD 2016 was celebrated on June 4. Over 700 participating clubs encour- aged their members to bring friends and family for a free workout and to promote the importance of physi- cal activity. Involvement from clubs gained national media attention and introduced thousands of prospective members to clubs across Canada. It is great for the fitness industry to have a day dedicated to celebrating health and wellness. We hope to continuous- ly grow the number of participating clubs each year.
