WHO: Kinetic Solutions (kineticsolution.com) was founded by Frank Kelly and Alastair Russell 20 years ago. Kelly, graduated from Ottawa University with a bachelor of social science de- gree. Alastair, graduated from Queen's University with bachelor of arts and a bachelors in physical and health education. Frank became the general manag-


er of a retail fitness equipment store in Ottawa and hired Russell to start a commercial division. Finding the volatile sales cycle of the retail busi- ness unsatisfactory, the two decided to

launch their own commercial equip- ment company and Kinetic Solutions began with Kelly as president and Russell as vice-president.


WHAT: Kinetic Solutions specializes in supply- ing high-quality commercial exercise equipment, but it has also attracted discerning retail clients who realize the value and performance benefits of higher quality products. The company also provides leasing services and of- fers facility design and equipment lay- out services. “Our goal is to create a partnership


with our clients, rather than just make a sale and move on,” says Russell. “That’s so much more important to us.” The company partners with equip-


ment manufacturers and trusted brands that meet specific criteria and shared values. Its 19-year relationship with True Fitness is a testament to those values. The company has nine employ-
