Independent commercial property consultancy Hughes Ellard has promoted Harnish Patel (right) to associate director and appointed Will Elgeti (far right) from Vail Williams in Southampton.
Moore Blatch has promoted associate solicitor David Bright from the corporate and commercial team in the Southampton office to partner.
He joined Moore Blatch from Horsey Lightly in December 2009 and was promoted to associate solicitor in May 2014. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions, business affairs, joint ventures, company restructuring and partnership matters.
He commented: “There is a collegiate, family and team ethos at Moore Blatch and the firm inspires a lot of loyalty among its staff, so I am delighted to be part of this going forward.”
Patel joined Hughes Ellard nearly six years ago with a remit in business space and development. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, having qualified in 2004 after completing his estate management degree at London Southbank University.

These appointments follow others during the past year, including senior building surveyor Nick Miles, surveyor Joe Walker, management surveyor Ed Martin, property manager Sara Williams, senior negotiator George Wise and senior building surveyor Mark Patel.
The Solent LEP has appointed Ian Millen, chief operating officer for Dryad Maritime, as chair of its Marine and Maritime Steering Group (SMMSG).
A former Royal Navy commander, he followed his 30 years' service with four years with the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), before joining Dryad in 2011. He is also the chairman of the Maritime Security Working Group (MSWG), a special interest group that promotes quality and standards in the security sector; and president of the London chapter of the Propeller Club, a not-for-profit organisation which champions the wellbeing of all waterborne trades and those that work in them.
Southampton-based Moore Blatch has promoted senior solicitor Fiona Heald, from the court of protection team in the Lymington office, to a partner. She is an accredited trust and estate practitioner, a dementia friends champion and a fellow of the association of taxation technicians.
Barclays has appointed former secondary school teacher Matthew Sedgley as its new Eagle Labs manager at County Gates, Bournemouth.
Sedgley will be responsible for supporting start-up businesses at the bank's newly-launched Eagle Labs MakerSpace, by providing access to the tools they need to rapidly produce and test prototypes, which can significantly reduce the time and cost taken.
WFBA, the Romsey-based consulting civil and structural engineering firm, has appointed Alistair Craig (centre) as technical director. The appointment initiates an expansion programme which will see the team grow from 18 to more than 27 over the next 12 months.
After qualifying as a chartered structural engineer he has been an associate with Elliott Wood Partnership in central London and, most recently, technical director with Southampton-based AKS Ward.
