PUBLISHER'SLETTER A

re you answering the call of your soul? Many of you may wonder what exactly this means, but it’s simply doing what you are truly passionate about and loving life every

day. That’s how you know you are in direct communication with your soul and listening to the guidance it has for you. Likewise, you also know or should be aware that when you are unhappy, when you lack passion for your work or relationships, when you have no identifi able purpose in life and no hope for the future, you are not aligned with your soul’s purpose. It’s that simple.

Many times we realize that we are not aligned with our purpose after we come

back from a vacation or time away from our “regular” life and feel depressed. There’s actually a syndrome called Post Travel Depression (PTD). The longer a trip lasts, the more intense the post vacation blues may be. This is because after you return home, you realize how boring and unsatisfactory your normal lifestyle routine is when compared to the activities you did while on your vacation. Post vacation blues may result in tiredness, loss of appetite, strong feelings of nostalgia, and in some cases, depression.

This could be a wake-up call for you to spend some time determining if you truly

are following your passion. For some, you may just need to allow more time for fun and travel in your life. For others, you may realize that you are in the wrong career or job and need to make a more dramatic change. Lisa Crofton writes an amazing feature this month with strategies to help you adjust to re-entry from vacation!

And don’t miss our great articles this month on Farm-to-Table Dining – all across

the state you can fi nd passionate and inventive Chefs creating mouth-watering meals with the summer’s abundance of fruits and vegetables. It’s my favorite time of year and I can’t wait to get out there and experience all that this season has to offer! I’ll be spending time in Rhinebeck, NY and the Chesapeake Bay and will be bringing you great information on Local Eats, Craft Cocktail bars and outdoor activities in these spectacular regions that are just a short drive away for us!
