THE raison d'être of the Teignmouth Twinning Association is to promote friendship and understanding between the residents of Teignmouth and those of our twin-town on the north Brittany coast, Perros-Guirec. The highlight of the year is the exchange visit,

where we get to meet up with our friends from the other side of the Channel. We take it in turns. and this May we hosted a fun-packed weekend which aimed to show off some of the best that Devon has to offer. The programme included visits to Killerton House and Gardens; an all-day excursion to the Jurassic Coast (at the request of our French friends); Buckfast Abbey and a trip on the South Devon Railway between Buckfastleigh and Totnes with a civic reception at Bitton House and a formal dinner at the Langstone Cliff Hotel. We are looking forward to May 2017 when we’ll be heading back over the Channel for a long weekend in Perros. There is still time to join in if you fancy a long weekend in France next time round!
