What is Sports Bug?
The Sport Bug project will help people over 14 years of age in Teignmouth to improve their health and wellbeing by providing a range of sport opportunities, physical activity and nutritional advice. The Sports Bug Co-ordinator will work with the local community for 3 days per week for 3 years to create and provide an exciting range of sport and physical activity opportunities.
Sport Bug is financed through a grant from the Sport England Community Activation Fund (Round 3) secured by Teignbridge District Council.
Every 3 months the local community will be asked which activities they would like to see provided in future months and the project will endeavour to provide them.
Nearly all of the project will be delivered using existing sports and community facilities in Teignmouth.
The project is designed to encourage local people to try a sport and/or physical activity and to continue to participate in the future.
To do this the project needs to work in partnership with local groups, clubs and organisations to provide these opportunities, so we would like to work with you to set up one or more of these activities over the course of the programme.
