The San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF ) will be presenting their showcase selections for the 32rd Annual Cine Gay Film Festival from Thurs- day, March 10 through Sunday, March 20. Of the film collection, Moises Esparza, SDLFF programmer offered this, “It is our pleasure to continue our annual tradition of bringing you the very best of LGBTQ Latino cinema. LGBTQ cinema is transcendent by nature, oftentimes forcing spectators to look beyond their own experiences and inviting them to engage, rec- oncile and ultimately relate to issues initially outside of their understanding.” Screenings take place at AMC Fashion Valley 18, featuring selections such as: the Mexican drama Prometo Anarquía (I Promise you Anarchy) by Director Julio Hernández Cordón, the documentary Made in Bangkok by Director Flavio Florencio, Desde Allá (From Afar) by Venezuelan Director Lorenzo Vigas, the Comedy/Drama/Fantasy, Velociraptor, from Director Chucho E. Quintero, Luciérnaga (Firefly) from Colombian Director Ana María Hermida and Viva the gritty Irish/ Cuban drama from Director Paddy Brethnach.

RAISE YOUR GLASSES Urban Optiks Optometry, San Diego’s


premier source for eyecare and eyewear, is proud to announce the return of their annual “Raise Your Glasses,” vendor trunk show expo and charitable fundraiser. This is their second event and is another evening of eye-popping fun, frames. It’s your chance to help raise awareness, participate in philanthropy and generate much needed funds for Optometry Cares. The mission of the non-profit Optometry Cares, is to expand eye health and vision care access to everyone in the U.S. in order to enhance human performance and quality of life. They do this by providing free eye exams and glasses to low-income Americans, as well as performing free comprehensive vision assessments for infants. Raise Your Glasses takes place at Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage on Tuesday, March 15 and features an opportunity drawing with fantastic prizes and a silent auction that will directly benefit the Optometry Cares. 30 YEARS OF DIVERSIONARY THEATRE It’s time to celebrate! San Diego is lucky enough to play host to America’s third oldest LGBT theatre and on Friday, April 1, we as a community are invited to celebrate the daring organization’s incredible legacy. Join master of ceremonies, Ian Harvey, of Amazon’s hit television show, Transparent and Tony Award-nominiee Beth Malone of Broadway’s Fun Home, as she performs during the evening of food, fun, raffles and a silent auc- tion. Witness the unveiling of Diversionary’s new brand- ing campaign and enjoy a 30-year retrospective video showcasing the theatre’s many accomplishments and fine productions. Honorees include the Fritz Klein award winner, Tom Reise of the California Institute of Arts and the National Fritz Klein honoree, James Obergefell, claimant in the Obergefell v.
