he new LX830D feller buncher for steep slope felling applications is Tigercat-powered to meet North American Tier 4 emissions requirements.
With tight tuck boom geometry and minimal tail swing, the LX830D is a powerful, yet compact machine, which is well-suited to selective felling and clear fell applications. It is said to take steep slope felling to the next level with a number of improvements aimed at service access, ergonomics and hydraulic efficiency.
The 245 kW (330 hp) Tigercat FPT C87 Tier 4f engine is housed in a completely redesigned upper enclosure with significantly improved right-hand-side visibility. At the push of a button, the clamshell style enclosure fully opens, with swing-out side doors for easy access to critical
components, daily maintenance points and both sides of the engine.
The cab’s new structure has narrower front posts and larger side windows to enhance visibility. The skylight has been replaced by

a camera system, providing the operator with a much wider field of view. The updated cab interior is also quieter and instrumentation has been thoughtfully placed to optimise ergonomics.

The Biomass Super Shredder, from West Salem Machinery (WSM) of Oregon enables a wide range of forest biomass (wood chips, sawdust, shavings and hogged wood) to be processed for improved drying and sizing for pellet manufacturing.
The WSM Biomass Super Shredder is specifically designed to achieve high speed milling of large amounts of green fibre at rates from 10-75 tph.
The largest shredder in the range, the massive Model 4888S, features a 48 inch diameter x 88 inch long rotor (1219 mm x 2235 mm) and operates at 400-800 hp.
