Healdsburg. CA. ~ Healds- burg resident Denny Bozman- Moss, who teaches at Sonoma State University and the Santa Rosa Junior College, and Sar- ah Baker, who has performed blues and jazz in North Bay for decades, have once again com- bined their talents to produce a new CD which is being sold as

a fund raiser for the National Al- liance on Mental Illness (NAMI). NAMI offers pro-active ser- vices to individu- als and families with mental ill- ness. Bozman- Moss said, mental health issues im- pact many fami- lies directly or through prevent- able tragedies. NAMI educates,

supports and helps individuals, families and communities af- fected by mental illness. Bozman-Moss said his fam- ily has found love and sup- port through NAMI which is, in part, why he has dedicated so much time and effort to these fund raising projects. He

added, “Rather than hide and huddle down we have learned to talk about our own family’s pain, loss, growth and gain.” This CD is titled “Favorite Old Sing-A-Long Songs For The Young And The Young At Heart.” The CD, with songs in Spanish and English, is a col- lection of favorite sing-a-long songs, like, “O What a Beauti- ful Morning,” “Home on the Range,” and “I’ve Been Work- ing on the Railroad.” The CD also comes with a print out of the album’s song lyrics. The al- bum is enjoyable. The cause it supports is important.

The CD and songbook are

available at the Sonoma Coun- ty NAMI office in Santa Rosa (182 Farmers Lane, Santa Rosa, 95405). Or for those who simply want to contribute to NAMI on-line visit: www.NA- MISOCO.org.

Management Tips for 2016

Praise People

There are two complaints employees register most frequently: The first is, no one knows what I do, the second is, no one appreciates what I do. First , get all your people together and ask each person in the presence of the group, “ How do you want to be recognized for good work?” Ask that all note the kind of

positive feedback each person wants (our hope is that they will all give each other feed- back as well as you). Write whatever they say! Keep the notes. Whenever you notice individuals doing good things (regardless how small) give them recognition in the way they wanted it, if at all possible. Be specific.

Folks may discover that what they first asked for is not quite as satisfying as they thought it might be. Always be willing to alter the way you recognize people’s good work.

If you have to be reminded to fulfill an employee’s request for positive feedback, put a note in your calendar to notice what people are doing well.

Petroleum geologists look for salt deposits to lead them to oil and gas. Because of its impervious nature, salt deposits stop oil and gas escaping, so form a natural underground reservoir.

The first surviving record of salt usage is 4700 years old; the Chinese Png-tzao, one of the world’s earliest writings, notes more than 40 types of salt, and the methods of extracting and processing it are not far removed from those still in use today.

The sea holds around 26 million tons of salt per cubic kilometre.

There are around 40 million billion tons of salt in the worlds oceans. Enough to leave the world covered by salt up to 50 metres high if all the seas evaporated.
