Eric The Owl


Eric first became interested in the law when he was just a young owlet. He studied with a wisdom of owls at night school (The Royal School for Ornithological Legal Studies) and learnt from some of the best legal eagles in the profession.


Craig Petrie


Petrie is an associate solicitor in the firm’s commercial litigation and dispute resolution department. He trained at Eric Robinson Solicitors and qualified in 2010.


His main areas of expertise include disputes relating to breach of contract, partnerships, property, co-ownership and interests in land. He also specialises in matters concerning commercial leases, including the recovery of rent arrears, breach of covenant and termination.


Petrie’s property practice extends to the residential sector where he frequently assists property management companies in regard to the management of their portfolios, and private individuals who are encountering difficulties managing their investment properties.


Ben Upward


Upward joined Eric Robinson Solicitors in 2011 and is a senior solicitor in the firm’s company and commercial department.


Upward is an experienced commercial property lawyer who deals with all types of freehold and leasehold property transactions. He has particular expertise in dealing with option agreements, commercial leases, (acting for both landlords and tenants) licences and S.106 agreements. He also acts for clients on the sale and purchase of businesses and advises on franchise agreements, debentures, partnership and shareholder agreements, and personal guarantees.


Upward’s client base is a varied and impressive mix of property developers, lenders, limited companies and sole traders.

He joined Eric Robinson Solicitors in 2014 when the firm was celebrating its 50th birthday. After numerous public appearances, he became somewhat of a celebrity, so now he has been given the role of ’Firm Ambassador’.
