USEFUL REMINDERS Chart helps families record those handy details
The RAF Charitable Trust has awarded a grant of over £2,600 to RAF Community Support to purchase 2,000 ‘Useful Reminders’ Charts for distribution across the Service. The charts, which, like the ‘My Staying Positive Charts’, have been created by the Victoria Chart Company, are designed to provide a one stop shop for families to record useful ‘in case of emergency’ information in an accessible place.
The RAF HIVE Service Delivery Manager, Mj Vallely said ‘These charts
are aimed at all our families in the RAF Community, particularly when the Service person works away from home, either on deployment, or just from Monday to Friday. They will allow families to make a note of important details such as their ‘Point of Contact’, Unit HR and Welfare telephone numbers, which are easily available to all, should any problems arise at home. We hope that units will purchase further copies using their Family Welfare Grant.’
The RAF Charitable Trust has helped RAF Community Support launch several novel items for Service families in the past, including ‘Talking Tins’ and the initial issue of the ‘My Staying Positive Charts’. The Trust, which is based at RAF Fairford in Gloucester, awarded grants of over £645,000 last year to the serving RAF and Air Cadet organisations and is well on the way to equalling that total this year.
Please visit your local HIVE to get your own chart or ask your serving partner to contact his HR Department.
